(Issued by the United Ulama Council of South Africa (UUCSA),
the umbrella body of major theological formation in South Africa)
(For Immediate Release)
The United Ulama Council of South Africa expresses shock at the reports of attacks of three people and a mosque in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal.
We condemn these unjustifiable acts of violence, which foster nothing but tension, mistrust and insecurity within communities.
It is our sincere hope that authorities will act swiftly in investigating the matter, apprehending, and successfully prosecuting the suspects in these grievous and vicious attacks.
